Mr. President by Katy Evans + GIVEAWAY!

Mr. President by Katy Evans + GIVEAWAY!

I started this book the night before I was set to leave on vacation…I read until I couldn’t keep my eyes open..and then I woke up the next morning with a mile long list of things to do and pack before I left on a trip and instead of doing that, I sat down with my iPad and finished Mr. President. Let’s just say I left for my trip HOURS after I planned on doing so. Oops. 🙂 But this book was just THAT GOOD. Charlotte was only eleven the first time she met Matt Hamilton. His father (then president) Lawrence Hamilton, brought him along to a dinner at Charlotte’s family’s home. Although Charlotte wasn’t originally supposed to attend the dinner she somehow talked her parents into letting her join. Good thing she did, because that dinner pretty much sealed her destiny. Charlotte was so charmed by Matt that she wrote him a letter after the dinner telling him that if he ever decided to run for president he had her vote and she’d even be willing to join his campaign.. Many years later, It appears that Matt was also charmed by Charlotte because he remembers her and her letter and calls on her offer 10+ years ago to join his campaign…and this is where the story really begins. Though Charlotte doesn’t originally accept the offer to join the campaign, after re-thinking it she calls his campaign manager and accepts the position because she wants to be a part of […]

The Power by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Power by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Ok wow, This book was even better than The Return. I really started to like Seth a whole lot more. I mean he finally started to grow on me in the Return (I kind of wanted to punch in the Covenant books…so that’s saying a lot), but I like him even more now, though he did have a few moments where someone needed to bitchslap him, but he found his way again… This book kind of dragged for me a bit in the beginning but it really started to pick up when we got towards the middle. We see quite a few people from the Covenant series in this book series (OMG guess who shows up in this book?! I bet you’ll never guess! :P) and we even meet a new demigod in the Power. Hercules. Yes, THAT Hercules shows up to help out a bit… and WOW. I don’t think I’ve ever rolled my eyes so hard at a character in a book before. He made for some good entertainment in this book, that is for sure. Wow, the end of the book. I have no words.. I was definitely not expecting that to happen and neither was Seth or anyone else for that matter, it seems. Something’s changed.. and Josie hasn’t given up on Seth, and I don’t think she should. Because even though he doesn’t see it, I don’t think the situation he’s found himself in is anywhere near as bad as everyone thinks it will be. […]

Blog Tour: Bounce by Noelle August + Giveaway

Blog Tour: Bounce by Noelle August + Giveaway

Bounce is the final book in the Boomerang series by Noelle August. It can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading the first two books in the series as the characters from the previous books show up throughout this book and references to events in those books are mentioned. Skyler is a musician from Kentucky looking to make it somehow in Los Angeles. She ends up at an audition for a movie with her roommate. Grey is the younger brother of Adam Blackwood, who we get to know in the previous book Rebound. After a wild party Grey has pretty much destroys his brother’s house, Grey has to work off what he owes his brother for damages. One of the things he ends up having to do is to sit in an audition for a movie Adam has invested in. He’s standing in for the leading actor who can’t make it to the audition for the female lead. After hours of reading lines with numerous girls, in comes Skyler and the sparks start flying. Grey & Skyler have instant chemistry and it’s off the charts, but other than the first time they met you don’t really see them act on it all that much. Thanks to Adam for loaning Grey out to Garrett (the male lead in the movie they’re filming) as his personal assistant, he’s on set every day and is around Sky quite a bit. Sky doesn’t see them working out, due to the fact that […]

Book Review: Easy With You by Kristen Proby

Book Review: Easy With You by Kristen Proby

Erin’s Review Oh my, I think I liked this novella better than the last few books in the With You in Seattle series. Being that is a novella, this story went by so quick, I was sad when it ended. I wish that we would have gotten more time with Lila, Asher and Casey. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and their backstories. Especially Asher & Casey’s story. They’ve been through a lot and it’s really quite heartbreaking when you learn about what happened to his wife and Casey’s mother. I’m so glad that they found Lila, I think she was great for both Asher & Casey. 🙂 One thing that I really liked about this book was bringing the case that Asher is working on into the story. It added  a bit of mystery and some suspense to the story. I think Kristen should do some more of that in the future. A little suspense always makes the story more interesting. 😉 While we’re in New Orleans getting to know Lily & Asher, we get a little visit with Matt & Nic when they came in to town from Seattle to visit Asher, as well as catch up a bit with Eli & Kate from Easy Love. Easy With You did a great job of blending both the With You in Seattle series (We first met Asher in Matt story, Tied With you, as he was Matt’s partner.) with the Boudreaux series (Lila is Kate’s BFF.) It was a very […]

Hollywood & Vine by Olivia Evans

Hollywood & Vine by Olivia Evans

I love Hollywood romances so I had to check this book out! Anders Ellis is a total asshole with an ego bigger than Hollywood. He’s the biggest manwhore known to man, never doing repeats… Josie Bane is a costume designer in Hollywood, CA. After witnessing a sex scene being shot with Hollywood’s notoriously promiscuous actor, Anders Ellis, Josie finds herself desiring Anders. To the point where she can’t stop having fantasies about him. She decides to go after him in hopes to become one of his One Night Stands so that she can get over the crazy attraction she has for him. After finding out her next work project has re-cast the Lead role with Anders Ellis and that he doesn’t remember her at all. Josie finds herself angry and embarrassed at that fact, though manages to appear indifferent to Anders. Which piques Anders interest..and then that’s when Anders pursuit to do something he’s never done before starts. He’s on a mission for a repeat..but what he doesn’t realize is that it’ll turn in to more than just one repeat. 🙂 This book is quite long and it took a while for me to get into this book, I honestly almost DNFed it..but it finally got interesting enough to keep my attention. The story is written in Third Person and it alternates between people. It also does this with no warning what so ever. It’ll go from Josie, to Anders, to everyone else in this story. I think at one […]

In a sizzling prequel novella to her new series THE DARK ELEMENTS, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout draws readers into the extraordinary, irresistible world of Wardens and demons. Dez wasn’t just Jasmine’s crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining balance between good and evil. He was her everything…right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn’t help that Jas’s father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally. And now he’s back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn’t taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again… Erin’s Review To be honest, when this book series was first announced I was like, ‘Gargoyles?!! Why would anyone write about gargoyles?’ Then I remembered that this is Jennifer L. Armentrout that is writing these books! I shouldn’t question her for writing about gargoyles, I should just trust the knowledge that we all know: Jennifer […]

Book Review: Speak Easy by Melanie Harlow!

Book Review: Speak Easy by Melanie Harlow!

Erin’s Review: Tiny is a 20-year-old girl dreaming of someday finishing nursing school, and moving out of her dad’s house. Tiny works for her father’s bootlegging operation while simultaneously helping out in her older sister’s small grocery store when she is needed. At night,  she craves the lifestyle of the flapper, but instead is at home taking care of the kids.  NOT HER KIDS, her own little sisters,  While their dad is off customizing cars with hidden compartments, gambling or picking up the shipment of booze that’s just come in over the lake. One day, about a week after Tiny notices “The Sheik”, aka Enzo, coming into her family’s grocery store. Enzo comes into her store asking her to pass something on to her father. That night her father goes missing. Oh no, what’s a girl to do? Enters Joey, a serious pain in Tiny’s ass, but someone she and her family have known all her life. With his help, she is able to collect the ransom money needed to get her dad back. The chemistry between Enzo and Tiny is explosive, and Tiny tries to use it to her advantage. But what’s this? An almost unwanted attraction for Joey has decided to sneak up on Tiny. Who is she going to choose? The mobster whose family has kidnapped her dad, or the boy from down the street that she’s known all her life and has done all he can to help her get her dad back? ————— Once I started reading […]

Book Review: Forever Too Far by Abbi Glines

Book Review: Forever Too Far by Abbi Glines

Man, what happened to Rush? Is it me or is he like seriously WHIPPED? This book didn’t have a whole lot going on..I think it’s mostly just for Abbi to tie up Blaire & Rush’s story and then introduce some new characters that I do believe we will be seeing again in the future. 😉 First we met Harlow, Nan’s uber-conservative, sweet and innocent half-sister. Next, we meet ‘Oh Captain, My Captain.’ Although we really didn’t get to learn much about him…maybe in the future? This book wasn’t too bad, but it wasn’t nothing that you like NEED TO READ RIGHT NOW, You can probably skip this and wait for the next book in Woods/Della’s story (Perfection). But if you do plan on reading it, YOU MUST BUY RUSH’S WEDDING SONG TO BLAIRE. 🙂 It’s available on iTunes.
