One Night: Denied by Jodi Ellen Malpas (It’s MILLER TIME!)

One Night: Denied by Jodi Ellen Malpas (It’s MILLER TIME!)

Miller’s name always makes me think of the  “It’s Miller Time” slogan by Miller Beer, so this review will be now called “It’s Miller <3 Time!” Because..well, it is Miller time. Raise your hands if you love Miller Hart!     First off, I’ve read a few other reviews on this book. Some things I agree with while some others I don’t. First, there was some weird editing in this book. For example, The end of chapter 10/beginning of chapter 11. Did Scotty beam her there? How did she go from Miller’s apartment to being inside of a hotel room. Also, how did she manage to get that specific hotel room? That just totally confused the hell out of me when I read it. Why is everyone hating on Miller and his “Thing?” I think it’s adorable. Olivia is the first person in his life he’s allowed to get close to him in that way and so of course it’s going to be an addiction, A THING, that he’ll want. Did anyone get tired of Jesse wanting to “Make Friends” because that was totally his “THING”. I think Miller’s “thing” is JEM just making him more adorable. Just like I thought Jesse and his “making friends” was adorable.   I enjoyed the first book of this series immensely.  This one I found not to be as good as the first book. Doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it, I did..but I think this one seems more like just a filler between […]

Black Lies by Alessandra Torre

Black Lies by Alessandra Torre

I was looking at this book on amazon, considering reading it..but seeing the names of TWO men, I decided to pass for now. I am not the biggest fans of Love Triangles as of lately (a certain Molly McAdams book killed love triangles for me and for Melanie a couple of years ago) so I try to avoid them now. A couple of days later Melanie is texting me telling me that I NEED TO READ BLACK LIES so that she can have some one to talk to. I yell at her about love triangles and she’s like “NO, YOU HAVE TO READ THIS. DO IT NOW.” I grumbled a bit and was like if it’s loanable on amazon I’ll read it…. 5 minutes later she loans it to me via Amazon. I totally put off starting this book until later in the evening… I started this book in the 8:00pm hour on Thursday 8/28 and I was finished with it before midnight that very night. I could NOT put this book down. I’ve read a few of Alessandra Torre’s books and they’ve all been very unique in their own rights. THIS BOOK  IS NO DIFFERENT. This book’s timeline is all over the place telling you the story of Lana’s love for two men. First up, there’s Brant: A Gorgeous, Intelligent, Successful computer nerd who is a bit scatterbrained. Then there’s Lee: The boy from the other side of the tracks, doesn’t compare to Brant’s genius, does landscaping for a living […]

Book Review: One To Hold by Tia Louise + Giveaway

Melissa has the year from Hell and somehow her best friend Elaine has managed to talk her into running away for a week at a spa thousands of miles away from the mess that her life is. While sitting at the hotel bar drinking the only cocktail she could think of that she doesn’t even like, she somehow catches the attention of the sexy Derek Alexander. When Derek comes her way, she’s floored by this as she’s normally not the girl to be on the receiving end of something like this. When Derek introduces himself to her, one thing leads to another and soon the most delicious one week stand commences. A good majority of this book takes place in Scottsdale, AZ at the Cactus Flower Spa and Hotel where Melissa and Derek have the most sizzling romance I’ve read in awhile. Melissa takes Derek’s heart and leaves him in Arizona with hopes that when she cleans up the mess that is her life, she’ll be able to find Derek again. When Melissa returns to Baltimore this is where the story gets really interesting and you find out things you didn’t expect. Tia Louise took my heart, ripped it out and stomped on it with this book. But no worries, she finds the duct tape and puts it back together again at some point. She gives us a lovely happily ever after with a very sweet epilogue. I highly enjoyed reading this book and I will gladly read any other […]

Book Review: Unchained by J. Lynn

Book Review: Unchained by J. Lynn

This book started out slow for me. It took a while for me to warm up to Lily, but eventually I got there. Like other female characters of JLA’s, Lily was full of some good snark and I think that is what finally got me. Lily is one kick-ass girl who hardly ever gets into a situation that she can’t get herself out of. Though, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a guardian angel looking out for (stalking) her. Enter Julian, an absolutely swoon-worthy fallen angel who just can’t seem to stay away from Lily. JLA sure knows how to write them swoony hot boys and Julian is no different. That man is one HOT angel. The things he says to Lily, oh boy, and the chemistry between the two of them is absolutely sinful. I read in another review that the reviewer found his stalking “a little creepy.” Hey guys, He didn’t watch her sleep at night, at least not to our knowledge. Hah. A 30 something cop and undetected Nephilim, Michael, is discovered by Lily in the book. No one understands why he went undetected, but it makes you wonder if he plays an important part in the bigger picture. This book had some absolutely smoldering smexy times in it, which is to be expected in a J. Lynn book. I had to fan myself a few times. Like I said before, the chemistry between Julian and Lily was sinful, and when she finally gave into Julian, the […]

Book Review: Rock With Me by Kristen Proby

Book Review: Rock With Me by Kristen Proby

Wow! Another great book in the With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby. Rock with Me is Leo Nash and Sam Williams’ story. As you know from the previous books, Leo is Megan’s (from Play With Me) foster brother and Sam is Luke’s (from Come Away With Me) sister. Leo Nash is the lead singer from the world-famous rock band Nash and Sam Williams is the sister of Luke Williams of Nightwalker fame.  Sam was very guarded in previous books and in this story we learn why she is the way she is.  Seeing as Sam is familiar with what happens when you’re famous and was once burned by a past lover who was in the spotlight,  she doesn’t want to go through it again.  She tries to push Leo away, but in the end she doesn’t push too hard. When Sam finally gives in to Leo, he says one of the HOTTEST things I’ve read in a book in a long time. This will go down as one of my favorite quotes from a book for sure. “I’ll take you hard, and soft, and every way in between. I’m going to fuck the shit out of you. And I’m going to make love to you until you’re shaking and don’t remember who you are.” – Leo Nash, Page 21. The rest of the gang shows up in the book as well. Like in past books there are some hilarious moments to be had. The Orgasm conversation that took place in […]
