Book Review: Fire In You by J. Lynn + Giveaway!

Book Review: Fire In You by J. Lynn + Giveaway!

I can’t believe that it’s the end of the Wait For You series!! I love these characters and I’m sad to see this series getting a wrap! We’ve met Brock and Jillian in previous books of the Wait For You series. Jillian is a bit younger than the rest of the crew in this series and last we saw her she was crushing hardcore on Brock, all the while, Brock just saw her as a little sister. This book takes place about six years after the rest of the series. Jillian is working in insurance and hasn’t seen Brock in those six years. The reason why being that the one night she decides to tell Brock how she feels about him, he pretty much blows her off. Minutes later after she leaves the Mona’s after she had been waiting for him, her life dramatically changes and definitely NOT IN A GOOD WAY. Now it’s six years later and Jillian is still trying to get past the tragic event that she went through.. She finally decides to take a job at her father’s MMA training academy, only later finding out that Brock is her boss…and little does she know Brock has finally realized that she’s more than just a “kid sister” to him… OH MY GOD. Why is this series over? I can’t get enough of Cam and Avery! They’re my favorite couple out of this entire series! As I was writing up this review I realized that this entire story […]

The Power by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Power by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Ok wow, This book was even better than The Return. I really started to like Seth a whole lot more. I mean he finally started to grow on me in the Return (I kind of wanted to punch in the Covenant books…so that’s saying a lot), but I like him even more now, though he did have a few moments where someone needed to bitchslap him, but he found his way again… This book kind of dragged for me a bit in the beginning but it really started to pick up when we got towards the middle. We see quite a few people from the Covenant series in this book series (OMG guess who shows up in this book?! I bet you’ll never guess! :P) and we even meet a new demigod in the Power. Hercules. Yes, THAT Hercules shows up to help out a bit… and WOW. I don’t think I’ve ever rolled my eyes so hard at a character in a book before. He made for some good entertainment in this book, that is for sure. Wow, the end of the book. I have no words.. I was definitely not expecting that to happen and neither was Seth or anyone else for that matter, it seems. Something’s changed.. and Josie hasn’t given up on Seth, and I don’t think she should. Because even though he doesn’t see it, I don’t think the situation he’s found himself in is anywhere near as bad as everyone thinks it will be. […]

Blog Tour: Bounce by Noelle August + Giveaway

Blog Tour: Bounce by Noelle August + Giveaway

Bounce is the final book in the Boomerang series by Noelle August. It can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading the first two books in the series as the characters from the previous books show up throughout this book and references to events in those books are mentioned. Skyler is a musician from Kentucky looking to make it somehow in Los Angeles. She ends up at an audition for a movie with her roommate. Grey is the younger brother of Adam Blackwood, who we get to know in the previous book Rebound. After a wild party Grey has pretty much destroys his brother’s house, Grey has to work off what he owes his brother for damages. One of the things he ends up having to do is to sit in an audition for a movie Adam has invested in. He’s standing in for the leading actor who can’t make it to the audition for the female lead. After hours of reading lines with numerous girls, in comes Skyler and the sparks start flying. Grey & Skyler have instant chemistry and it’s off the charts, but other than the first time they met you don’t really see them act on it all that much. Thanks to Adam for loaning Grey out to Garrett (the male lead in the movie they’re filming) as his personal assistant, he’s on set every day and is around Sky quite a bit. Sky doesn’t see them working out, due to the fact that […]

Book Review & Giveaway: The Only Way by Magan Vernon

Book Review & Giveaway: The Only Way by Magan Vernon

Another great book by Magan Vernon. I don’t know about you guys, but I LOVE THE CHAPMAN BROTHERS. We got to meet and fall in love with Trey in The Only Exception and The Only Answer. In The Only Way we get to the meet his brother, Tripp, who happens to be the “black sheep” of the family. He’s fresh out of rehab and being whisked away to his father’s election night party. On the way there, he makes a detour to a hole-in-the-wall diner where he meets a waitress named Samantha “Sam” Green. Sam isn’t any better off than Tripp. She’s got her own problems she’s dealing with and she keeps everyone at arms length with her snark. After being kicked out of her apartment, Tripp comes to the rescue. Soon she’s crashing on his couch and helping him out in exchange. I really enjoyed this book. Magan did a good job of getting into the mind of a recovering addict who is trying to find himself after getting out of rehab. He may come from what seems like the perfect family, but he and his family are far from perfect and we’re beginning to see more of that in this book. I really liked him and Sam. They were GREAT together and they really helped each other out. She helps him find himself and his calling in the world. I loved that their relationship started out as a friendship and we got to witness their relationship blossom instead […]

BLOG TOUR: Rebound by Noelle August + Giveaway

BLOG TOUR: Rebound by Noelle August + Giveaway

I have to be honest here… I think I may have liked this one better than the first one. The reason why I know this is because I actually had to go back into Boomerang and skim it through a bit and see what exactly Alison did to her Ex in that book. Oops. :X After going through something horrific with his last girlfriend in college, Adam has closed himself off from any sort of romantic relationships and only resorted to hookups and while blaming himself for what happened in college. Alison, oh Alison, it’s probably a good thing I didn’t remember what it is you did in the first book that caused your relationship to Ethan to to end or else I may have not read this book….Alison has recently graduated college and now she needs to prove to her dad that she can handle the family business. I ended up liking Alison a lot. She was a good person who made a terrible mistake, but after learning more about her family, and especially her dad, it all made sense.  I’m so glad that she and Adam found each other and are able to help each other get over things that happened in their past and move on with their lives with each other!   This was a cute story, but it did get a bit emotional at times. There is quite a cast of characters in this series and I liked them all! This book did start out with Insta-Love, but it totally […]

Already Famous by Heather Leigh + Giveaway!

Already Famous by Heather Leigh + Giveaway!

I’ve read this entire series and I’ve really enjoyed it. I was sad to see it end with Extremely Famous until it turns out Heather wasn’t done just yet with the series! Already Famous is Relatively Famous told from Drew’s Point of View. I know a lot of people don’t like rereading the same story from the male’s POV but, really, sometimes you should! It can make the entire story seem like a new one. It was quite interesting to see his point on things. He really tried hard to keep the knowledge that he was famous from Sydney. He knew something bad must have happened to her in her past that made her obviously wary of “famous” people. You really get to know Drew in this story. See how he ticks and this story made me realize that maybe, just maybe, someone should have talked him into anger management classes or therapy. Because it doesn’t take much for him to set him off. Though it is obvious he wouldn’t hurt Sydney or his family, because usually he was angry for them. He gets angry over how his fame affects the people he loves and he just doesn’t seem to handle all of that well. Maybe with therapy, he could handle all of that better. I always thought it was kind of funny though, when he got angry, because he would start talking (or yelling) in his native Boston accent.. and Heather did a good job of conveying the change […]

Book Review: Stay With Me by J. Lynn (Blog Tour)

Book Review: Stay With Me by J. Lynn (Blog Tour)

Stay With Me is another amazing book from one of our favorite authors Jennifer L. Armentrout. Book 3 in her new adult series WAIT FOR YOU, Stay With Me follows Teresa Hamilton’s friend Calla as she tries to put her life back together after discovering that her mother has stolen her college money and racked up a massive amount of debt in Calla’s name. While the book starts out at the College and town where Wait For You and Be With Me take place in, the story leaves there and goes to Calla’s hometown outside of Philly. Calla has escaped a strung out mother and memories of a tragedy that has left Calla scarred both physically and emotionally with plans to make for a better life for herself. When it comes time to pay for her next semester in school she discovers that the money in her college fund is missing. Not only that, but someone has racked up a huge credit card debt in her name. When Calla can’t get a hold of the person who is responsible for this, her mother, she goes back to her hometown to try and find out what’s going on. Entering Plymouth Meeting, her hometown, Calla goes straight to the one place where her mother should be. Only to find a hot bartender who gives Jase a run for his money as lieutenant of the Hot Guy Brigade. Which is what she calls the guys (Cam, Jase, Ollie, etc..) in her circle of […]

Book Review: Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire

Book Review: Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire

“In the first installment of the Maddox Brothers books, readers can experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again.” It pretty much was like re-reading Beautiful Disaster, only with a different clueless girl and another Maddox brother being pushed into the friend zone. Oh let’s not forget the clueless girl’s clueless roommate and her relationships as well. I wanted to punch both girls in the throat. This book was pretty ‘meh’ for the first half of the book..and then it finally started getting interesting..though not really all THAT interesting. One of the few good things going for this book is that it starts out right before Travis meets Abby, so you get to see a little bit of that relationship developing from the outside but not too much.  Cami has a secret and she doesn’t want Trenton to know because she thinks he’ll walk away from her when he finds out. Throughout this book I didn’t know what to expect when we finally learned of Cami’s secret and then at the end Jamie McGuire totally bitchslaps you in the face with something you didn’t even see coming. Seriously, I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. So kudos to Jamie for giving us that totally unexpected ending. So if you do want to experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster again, I definitely suggest you read this book.  😉 I will be honest after the way this book ended, I’m definitely going to be checking out the next book in the series […]

12 Days of Reviews & Giveaways: Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol

12 Days of Reviews & Giveaways: Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol

Erin’s Review:   Hello Ladies! There’s a new alien in town and he’s here to collect all of our hearts!     Yes, Yes it is. His name is Trey Allairis and it didn’t take long for him to have me swooning all over the place! While he’s not actually referred to as an Alien, He does mention being from another world and to get to said world they have to travel through a worm hole. If that doesn’t scream ALIEN, I don’t know what does.     Ah, since I mentioned Trey, excuse me a minute:     Ok, I think I’m good for a minute. 😉 I started reading Under Different Stars on Monday and thank the (different) stars (ha!) that I had Tuesday off, because I finally gave the book a rest when I could barely keep my eyes open. I was instantly sucked into the story and I did not want to stop reading! This book was incredible, from the unique Etharian slang they used to the swoon-worthy Trey Allairis . The characters in this book were amazing and the world that Amy built for us..was a lot like ours, but yet so very different. I’m finding it difficult to put into words how much I loved this book, but I will try! Kricket was smart, funny and the good kind of sassy.  She wasn’t at all annoying like some Sass-filled protagonists come off as.  Having lost her parents early on in life, she’s had a rough upbringing […]
